🇬🇧 British metalcore band Malevolence has joined the lineup of this year's Hills of Rock festival. The band returns to Bulgaria to play on the first day of the festival, replacing the Americans Of Mice And Men.
🤘 Since their last appearance in Bulgaria, Malevolence will once again deliver a big show, this time at the Rowing Base in Plovdiv. Their concert will be on the main stage on July 24 at 6:00 PM, right after Vended. With their addition, Hills of Rock becomes a true rich dimension of different bands, each with a unique sound.
🎟️ Less than a month remains until this year's edition of Bulgaria's most famous rock and metal festival, and tickets can still be found via Ticket Station.
📖 Malevolence was formed in 2010 by guitarists Josh Baines and Konan Hall – childhood friends united in school by their shared love of heavy music. The band was officially established with the arrival of vocalist Alex Taylor, as well as bassist Wilkie Robinson and drummer Charlie Thorpe. The band exploded onto the world stage with the release of their debut album – "Reign of Suffering" in 2013. The following year, Malevolence was the support act for the European tour of Canadian hardcore punk band Obey The Brave alongside Napoleon and Kubai Khan, and later also part of Dying Fetus' tour.
💿 Since then, the band has released 3 more studio albums: "Self Supremacy" (2017), "Malicious Intent" (2022) and "Where Only the Truth Is Spoken" (2025), as well as 2 EPs, one of which – "The Other Side" (2020) – features Knocked Loose vocalist Bryan Garris on the track "Keep Your Distance".
🔥 Their style is a mixture of beatdown hardcore, metalcore, hardcore punk, groove metal and sludge metal. British publication "Rock Sound" describes their style as "the perfect combination of hardcore and metal".
